About

Slow travel guides for readers anywhere in the world, written to be checked.

Fartherfield publishes travel guides on four lines: destinations, long weekends, hotels and stays, and transport and planning. Each guide is a stop on its line.

Who writes the guides

The guides are written under the name Pratama S.. An occasional traveller, not a professional travel writer, who has travelled mostly in Southeast Asia.

A guide is first-hand only where the author was there. A filled stop and the label “First-hand” mark it, and the guide says where the author was. Every other guide is research: it is built from the sources it cites, not from a visit. A ring and the label “Research” mark it.

How a guide is made

Our research is AI-assisted. Some facts change, such as an entry rule, a fare or an opening time. Each one shows the date we checked it, its source and the date we will check it again. For entry, visa, safety and health facts we cite official sources only. A human editor at Fartherfield checks every guide by hand before it is published. The editorial policy explains each step.

Who runs Fartherfield

The publisher of this site and its guides is Fartherfield, an independent travel publication. The owner of Fartherfield also runs these independent sites:

  • thetechworldinfo.com
  • digivaley.com
  • thefiscalfield.com
  • vitalrhythm.org
  • naturalhomeblog.com
  • thedrivelane.com
  • jadwalmotogp.id
  • campusandcareer.org
  • jobspoole.com
  • studykejerman.com
  • telusur.in
  • modreview.net
  • artikelkesehatan.id

A guide links to one of these sites only where the link helps you in that guide. This page names them without links. We do not list them in a sitewide list or a footer. A paid link always carries a label. See advertising and affiliates.

Money

Fartherfield carries no advertising and no affiliate links today. If that changes, the advertising and affiliates page will say how, before the first one appears.
